Justice NV Ramana to be new Chief Justice of India, to take oath on April 24 | India News – Times of India

NEW DELHI: President Ram Nath Kovind appointed Justice N V Ramana because the subsequent Chief Justice of India on Tuesday.
Senior-most Supreme Court choose Justice NV Ramana will take oth because the forty eighth Chief Justice of India on April 24.
The warrant of appointment as CJI, with impact from April 24, was handed over to Justice Ramana by division of justice.
“In train of the ability conferred by clause (2) of Article 124 of the Constitution of India, The President is happy to nominate Justice Nuthalapati Venkata Ramana, Judge of the Supreme Court, to be the Chief justice of India with impact from April 24,” the Centre stated in official notification.
Chief Justice of India Justice SA Bobde had really helpful Ramana as his successor in line with conference and norms of seniority.
Justice Bobde, who is because of retire on April 23, has despatched the advice to the Law and Justice Ministry, and handed over a duplicate to Justice Ramana.
