‘Well, why don’t you just cut it off now?’: Hairstylist shares story behind Princess Diana’s iconic hairdo


Princess Diana was not solely recognized for her humanitarian work, she was equally admired for her style selections. They had each met at a photoshoot and he styled her hair to look slightly shorter. “I made it look short under the tiara — I faked it a bit. We laughed so much, she was very funny,” he shared.

But the princess who took to the model wished it for actual, as he remembered her saying:  ‘What would you do with my hair if I just said do anything?’ I mentioned, ‘I would cut it all off and just start again’. It was the start of the ’90s and it was on the time that I used to be doing plenty of exhibits and covers and numerous the women had brief hair, and we had been shifting from the massive frou-frou ’80s into the sharp, extra androgynous, enterprise stylish of the ’90s,” he recollected.
