As many as 120 enforcement groups of the Delhi authorities’s transport division and town police will implement restrictions on plying of BS III petrol and BS IV diesel four-wheelers within the nationwide capital if such curbs are imposed, officers stated.
Amid worsening air pollution ranges in Delhi, the Centre’s air high quality panel Saturday directed authorities within the Nationwide Capital Area to implement curbs equivalent to a ban on building and demolition actions beneath the Graded Response Motion Plan stage III.
The Fee for Air High quality Administration (CAQM) additional stated states may impose restrictions on the plying of BS III petrol and BS IV diesel four-wheelers within the NCR contemplating the worsening air high quality. This route is non-binding on authorities.

In accordance with a Delhi Transport Division official, the 120 enforcement groups of the division can be implementing the restrictions together with Delhi Police. “We verify the automobiles by importing their registration numbers within the Vahan database and checking their sort and different specifics. All of the 120 enforcement groups are busy in implementing the varied pollution-related measures,” the official stated.
Delhi Atmosphere Minister Gopal Rai will chair a high-level assembly on Sunday to debate measures to be applied beneath stage III of GRAP. The nationwide capital’s 24-hour common air high quality index stood at 397 at 4 pm, the worst since January. It was 354 on Thursday, 271 on Wednesday, 302 on Tuesday, and 312 on Monday (Diwali).
