UP Forest Department to Plant More Than 18 Lakh Trees Along Ganga Expressway

The Uttar Pradesh Forest Division will plant greater than 18 lakh saplings alongside the 600-km lengthy Ganga Expressway and even keep them for 10 years.

This can price about Rs 183 crore which shall be given to the division by Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Improvement Authority (UPEIDA).

In line with an official spokesman, this would be the first such initiative during which a forest division will plant saplings on each side of an expressway within the nation.

To perform the plantation goal, no less than 25 nurseries shall be raised on the Ganga Expressway, out of which 5 shall be hi-tech nurseries.

The expressway will begin from Meerut and move by Hapur, Bulandshahr, Amroha, Sambhal, Badaun, Shahjahanpur, Hardoi, Unnao, Rae Bareli, Pratapgarh and Prayagraj.
