Rohidas Datir, a 48-year-old journalist and Right to Information activist who labored with an area journal, was kidnapped and murdered in Rahuri city in Ahmednagar district.
Police stated that round 12 midday on Tuesday, Datir was on his method residence on a two-wheeler, when a SUV intercepted him. Those contained in the SUV then kidnapped Datir and left the spot, stated police.
After Datir’s spouse Savita lodged a grievance of kidnapping on the Rahuri police station, cops began to look into the matter. On checking the movies captured by a number of the CCTV cameras within the space, police recognized the SUV utilized by the accused to kidnap Datir.
Datir’s physique was discovered at a secluded open house close to Rahuri College round 11 pm on Tuesday. Police stated he was brutally assaulted and strangled to dying.
Meanwhile, probe revealed that the SUV wherein Datir was kidnapped belonged to 1 Kanhu Gangaram More. A search has been launched for More and different suspects on this case, stated Deputy Superintendent of Police Rahul Madane.
Police have detained 4 individuals for questioning and try to determine the motive behind the homicide.
According to the grievance lodged by his spouse, Datir had obtained threats and even been attacked previously.
